"I have always thought of myself as a non conformist with my own style and flare. I like to be original. I like to be unique. I try to instill these ideas in my three young daughters who happen to be the center of my universe! So much so, that they are the ones behind the name of my business CEK Custom Designs! (Caroline, Ella and Kate)."

"I am motivated from a place of 'I wonder if I can?". It’s my method of self teaching. If there is a way, I will eventually find it. I have a traditional background in jewelry having studied it in a technical school, as well as apprenticing with a master goldsmith. But there is soooo very much out there to know, and learn. And inevitable, I always want to do something more. Learn something I haven’t yet done."

"I can remember my first 'blue' ribbon for a drawing I had made in grade school! With an artistic Mom that sewed, painted and crafted and a Grandfather who also painted, I was encouraged to explore my creative side. I found myself taking photography, ceramics, and drawing classes in high school. When I started college I continued with drawing and ceramics (both which I loved) in addition to the 'required' courses. I even dabbled in friendly plastic (remember that craze!) Eventually, I found myself working for the State of California. Out of the blue, I decided to make candles, a lot of work, but a lot of fun! I enjoyed working for the state immensely until I became pregnant. After a few years, I quit my job and we relocated our family to a quiet town in Northern California. In addition to allowing me to be home with my son, being here has helped me to return to my creative side and continue my passion with jewelry making."

Marya Williams

Marya Williams was born and raised in Berkeley, California where her first jewelry class in high school introduced her to metalsmithing and casting. After a few years of selling beaded jewelry she enrolled in Thundering Seas School for silversmiths on the coast of Oregon. Upon returning to the Bay Area she earned her Graduate Jeweler Certificate from the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts.  She specializes in combining sterling silver with various karats of gold. Most of her work is hand fabricated using traditional goldsmithing techniques. She finds inspiration for her designs in the inherent beauty of the metals, utilizing their natural tarnishing abilities and highlighting the contrasting colors of silver and gold. She works out of her studio in downtown San Francisco.
